What Is Bone Grafting?

Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that adds volume and density to areas of the jaw where bone is deficient. It’s most commonly used to support dental implants or preserve bone after tooth extraction.

We place high-quality grafting material—either synthetic or donor bone—into the area needing restoration. Over time, your body replaces the graft with your own natural bone, creating a stable base for future dental work.

Why Is Bone Grafting Needed?

When a tooth is lost or removed, the jawbone beneath it begins to shrink due to lack of stimulation. Without healthy bone, a dental implant can’t be securely placed. Bone grafting resolves this issue.

What to Expect with Bone Grafting

   The procedure is performed under local anesthetic. We place the graft material and secure the site.
3. Healing Period
   Over the next few months, your body integrates the graft and forms new bone.
4. Next Steps
   Once healed, we can place your dental implant or complete the next phase of your treatment plan.
